Midland Scottish and Midland Bluebird Buses and Coaches in the 1990's
This collections of scanned slides cover the Midland Scottish Omnibuses/Bluebird Midland fleet through the 1990's. The original Midland empire was severely cut back when the four new Scottish Bus Group operating companies were formed in 1985 with the main centres of operation being Balfron, Bannockburn, Larbert, Linlithgow and for a short time, Oban. The Scottish Bus Group privatisation programme saw Midland sold to GRT in September 1990 and an attractive blue version of the GRT "family" livery was soon adopted.
The Oban operation was sold off to Derek Stuart's Oban and District in 1992 leaving a very compact operating territory which then expanded for licensing purposes to include the Western part of the Eastern Scottish/SOL depots at Livingston and Westfield, Edinburgh. For now, this collection only covers the "true blue" aspects of Midland with a couple of small exceptions which will be apparent; however that might change as and when I scan the Eastern Scottish/SOL/SMT parts of my collection.
